Apprenticeship Training
What is Apprenticeship Training?
Apprenticeship training is a course of training in an industry or establishment, under a contract of apprenticeship which consists of
a) Basic training component and
b) on-the-job-training (OJT)/practical training at workplace.
What is age limit for Apprenticeship Training?
Individuals above 14 years of age with physical fitness may apply for apprenticeship training. (18 years in case of hazardous industries)
What are the qualifications required?
Individuals should have completed ITI Trades, Diploma or Bachelor in Engineering, or any graduates. Also many organizations offer training for SSLC, +2 qualifications.
Whether Salary is provided during Apprenticeship?
Since it is training, Individuals provided monthly stipend. It is usually between Rs.7000-Rs.10000 per month.
Whether registration at apprenticeshipindia.org is mandatory?
Yes registration is mandatory for Candidates, Establishment, and Basic Training Provider.
What are designated Trades?
Designated trades are mostly engineering and manufacturing based. Currently there 256 designated trades. i.e. Electrician, Fitter, Motor Mechanic, Book Binder, Welder, etc.
What are optional Trades?
The other trades which are not included in the notified list of the Designated Trades but opted as a Trade/Course to be run under the Apprentices Act by an establishment.
